Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is scheduled to launch a
biography book on his father titled "Tuan Guru Hj Mohd Yassin" this
Saturday at the Sultan Ibrahim Mosque, Muar, Johor.
According to a statement from the Malaysian Institute of Translation and Books (ITBM), the book written by Abdul Latif Juffri @ Al-Jufri and Amad Bahri Mardi contains information on the struggle, contribution, aspirations and thinking of Mohd Yassin which can be used as guidance by society and future generations.
The book, which is published by ITBM with the cooporation of the National Association of Religious Teachers of West Malaysia (KKGUMB), also tells about Mohd Yassin's life as a religious figure, thinker, educator, sufi practitioner, missionary and exemplary father.
It was written based also on interviews with family members and his students.
Other than Muhyiddin himself, who is the eighth son of the religious figure, also attending the event will be Johor Mufti, Datuk M. Tahrir Kiyai Samsudin.
